Nadine, Gilles, Christophe and Alexandre welcome you at the heart of the Mézenc massif, 500 metres from the village of Les Estables, the highest commune in the Massif Central. In South-East of Auvergne, the hotel benefits from a magnificent setting for a stay in harmony with nature. More than an accommodation, La Decouverte hotel is a real base camp and will be your pied-à-terre during the organised stays : walking and hiking, snowshoeing, with guid our without… Several amenities, indoor swimming-pool, wellness centre, playroom, reading lounge, …, will make your stay excellent, relaxing and invigorating.
The surrounding
The hotel benefits from a privileged location, surrounded by a unspoilt nature. Calm, space and opening towards the landscape are the strong points of La Decouverte, at 30 minuts from Le Puy en Velay, at 1 hour from Saint-Etienne ans at 2 hours from Lyon. The hotel is face south, onto the sun and the high plains of Mezenc. It’s surrounded by a large garden, at some steps of the village.. Around, there are many pasture fields or hayfields. For mountains surround the village and the hotel : the Mont Mézenc, the Mont Alambre, the Mont Chaulet and the Rock Tourte.
The bedrooms
All the rooms have 3-star conveniences including a shower room, a separate toilet, a telephone and a safe. They are all south-facing.
Rooms type : 18 double room (with double bed) or twin (with twin beds) and 2 family room for 4 or 5 persons.

The amenities
What you will appreciate most is the indoor heated pool (open from 7.30am to 8.00pm) : enjoy the 180° view while staying warm, in winter or summer. Other facilities include a solarium, a shower with multidirectional sprays (open from 7.30am to 8.00pm), a sauna, a hot tub, a norwegian shower, a massage room… but also a table tennis room, a lounge with fireplace, an Internet station, a TV lounge, billiards, table football, etc.
Outside: a garden, ground for playing pétanque, a terrace, a private car park. There is a self-service bar. We trust you and we let you serve yourself when you want !
The dining room
The restaurant on the first floor faces south and looks out onto the village. From there you can enjoy a view of the valley.
Christophe, cook chef in the hotel since 2000, prepare meals from many local products. Most of the meals are homemade and you will enjoy traditional dishes. Our meals, in form of a unique menu, are diversified, balanced and adapted to the walkers efforts.
